WorkSpace Manager Desktop is a suite of client-side add-ins to DeskSite and/or FileSite that allow users to perform "managed" operations within WorkSite in Matter-centric or non-Matter-centric environments, or as part of the migration or conversion of an environment to one that uses WorkSpaces.
All of these utilities can be run as a "proxied" user, using secured credentials, so that users without WorkSite Role Privileges can still use the tool to perform necessary operations. A simple, user-friendly interface can be pre-configured and locked down for easy use by non-technical users. Most of these applications are completely client-side applications, and require no dedicated hardware, servers, or system modifications. All of these utilities work with existing WorkSpaces regardless of how they were created.
- Folder to WorkSpace Converter: Allows users to convert Folders or Tabs to WorkSpaces, set the metadata and security on the new WorkSpace, and migrate all sub-folders and searches to the new WorkSpace, including all content.
- WorkSpace Declare: Allows users to Declare as Records all of the content within a WorkSpace, providing detailed feedback on the Declare operation.
- WorkSpace Undeclare (WorkSite 8.5 Only): Allows users to attempt to Undeclare Records that have been previously Declared within a WorkSpace, providing detailed feedback on content that could not be undeclared based on server configuration options and other WorkSite settings.
- Clone WorkSpace: Allows a user to clone any existing WorkSpace, set new metadata and/or security and perform "smart" replacement of the new metadata values throughout the new structures, including names, descriptions, metadata and search parameters.
- Merge WorkSpaces: Allows a user to merge two or more existing WorkSpaces into one, with the ability to graphically reorder structures, automatically merge duplicate structures, or manually redesign structures or content through simple drag-and-drop operations.
- Restructure WorkSpaces: A powerful utility for allowing users to add structures to existing WorkSpaces individually or in bulk. Can be optionally configured to work with a centralized database for tracking modifications, filtering allowed modifications based on user, group, role, or any combination of WorkSpace metadata.
- Supplemental Security Manager: In addition to "managed" security profiles that are applied (using WorkSpace Manager) to WorkSpaces, users can be given the ability to define specific additional security on WorkSpaces, their sub-structures and content in a controlled way with this application.
- WorkSpace Health Check: Analyzes one or more WorkSpaces for security issues, misfiled or orphaned documents, user created structures or structures that do not conform to current design standards. Makes recommendations for modifications to WorkSpaces and can perform remediation operations automatically. Supports completely client-side or server-side configurations.
