What does the WorkS with WorkSite seal mean?
- That the application was developed by a Certified Interwoven Development Partner. Interwoven has strict membership guidelines for their partners to ensure compliance with technical, licensing, and intellectual property guidelines. Just because an application "integrates" with WorkSite, does not mean that the development was properly licensed through or for Interwoven.
- That the application was developed using Approved Interwoven Techniques and Methods. Interwoven supports their 3-tier API architecture for connecting to, reading data from, and making modifications to WorkSite systems. Direct writes to SQL, or modifications to the database schema of ANY KIND are not permitted or supported, and may VOID YOUR WORKSITE SUPPORT or cause future issues with WorkSite database upgrades!
- That the application will work with the currently used WorkSite versions. DocAuto products are developed on the most current WorkSite platforms, buy we maintain "legacy" versions of products for older API versions that are still in use, including infoRite, infoLook, DeskSite 6, 8.0, 8.1, and 8.2, MailSite 3.x, 4.x, and 8.x, and FileSite 8.x.
- When new WorkSite versions are released, we will support them as soon as possible. All we do is develop for the WorkSite platform. We do not develop for other document or content management systems. We are completely committed to supporting new versions of WorkSite, typically within days of their release. Please note that we do not develop or support Beta releases or Release Candidate software without prior agreement.
- That all products are consistent with WorkSite best practices and established industry standards of use.
What about products from other companies?
- These products may not be properly licensed through Interwoven. Because the WorkSite database has an accessible schema in SQL, it is possible to read and change this data. Other companies may have access to WorkSite APIs, so they can put together software that uses these APIs. Just because a company says their product "integrates with WorkSite", it does not mean it is properly licensed, approved, safe, or supported. Check the list of Approved WorkSite Developer Partners to see if your supplier is properly licensed!
- Direct manipulation of SQL data in a WorkSite database is NOT supported or approved by Interwoven. Conflicting data in the WorkSite database can be created by direct writes to the data tables, rendering part or all of the database unusable. We have SEEN our competitors' products do this!
- Modification of the WorkSite database schema is NOT ALLOWED! Adding or changing tables, columns, stored procedures, publications, or any other aspect of the default WorkSite database schema can VOID your Interwoven Support Agreement and make your WorkSite system unusable.
- Other software products may not be maintained for future WorkSite releases. Integrators or other software or service providers that "put something together" for WorkSite may not be around to support or maintain their product when new updates or releases become available.
