Software Solutions for Autonomy iManage WorkSite
In This Issue:
Omtool Acquires iImage Product Suite from DocAuto, Inc.

Omtool™ (OMTL.PK), a leading provider of document capture and handling solutions, today announced the acquisition of the iImage ™ Suite of imaging products for Autonomy iManage (formerly Interwoven) WorkSite from DocAuto, a provider of software solutions for Autonomy iManage WorkSite.  Omtool will assume ongoing sales, support, and maintenance of these products within the existing DocAuto customer base.

This acquisition will expand the offerings of Omtool’s support team who provide service to Omtool's acclaimed AccuRoute® product line that streamlines the capture, conversion, communication, and archiving of paper and electronic documents for organizations of all sizes. Designed for distributed enterprise document routing and accessible from any desktop computer or network-enabled scanning device (including an MFP), AccuRoute makes documents immediately accessible where and when they are needed.

"As the market leader in document capture technologies for law firms and beyond, Omtool is better suited to support and expand upon the iImage product line," said David Kiefer, president of DocAuto, Inc. "We will work extensively with our existing customers and prospects to ensure a smooth transition to Omtool and its support organization."

"As we enter into this agreement, DocAuto will leverage its expertise with the Autonomy iManage WorkSite platform to help enhance Omtool's ability to support the iImage customer base," said Bob Voelk, chief executive officer, president and chairman of the board of directors of Omtool, Ltd.  “The document capture market remains the primary focus for Omtool and providing support for DocAuto iImage product line further demonstrates our commitment and expanded footprint within that market.”

Message from the President

So far, 2009 has been a challenging yet very successful year for DocAuto, and I wanted to thank all of our customers, colleagues, partners, and friends out there that have helped us continue to grow and evolve in these changing times.

We are very pleased about the completion of the sale of our iImage product suite to Omtool, as mentioned above, after many months of hard work on both sides.  We think this will be an excellent development for our existing iImage customers, as they will now be able to work with the strongest player in the Scanning and Imaging space of the legal technology market, and it will help DocAuto focus on and continue to expand our offerings in matter centricity and other areas where we are clear market leaders.

We are also very excited about the Autonomy acquisition of Interwoven, and look forward to working with their larger suite of companies and technologies in the future.

I also wanted to thank the many people who have wished me well during my recent hip replacement surgery.  I will be getting the other one done in two weeks, so after 35 years of painful waiting, I will finally have these issues corrected.  But please, no more Steve Austin jokes, even though I will be about an inch taller once everything is done...

Sincerely,

David Kiefer, President, DocAuto, Inc.

Important FINAL Notice about DocAuto Software Licensing

Important Notice To All DocAuto Partners and Customers:

In May 2008, our license key vendor, Element 5, made a change in their software "wrapping" system ( that utilized "POP" codes) that drove us to develop our own license key system, which is now fully operational.  Many of our clients have already migrated from POP codes to the new DocAuto "key" system.  However, clients who haven't installed any updates may have software that is functioning using the old POP code system which was installed when the original purchase was made.

Please be advised that effective May 2009, ALL POP code support will be discontinued by Element 5.

This means that any product installed with a POP code will cease to function. It is VERY important for you to review your software (or for resellers, your customers' software) to ascertain if any installations are still using POP codes. Here are the procedures if you have POP code software (generally anything installed before Summer 2008):

1.  For users with active Annual Support, please send an email to support@docauto.com and request a new license key and software that does not use POP codes.

2.  Users who have allowed their Annual Support to lapse will be provided with a license key file so they can use the last version of the software they had.  We will not provide new software or licenses. You'll receive the license key file when you send an email to support@docauto.com with a list of the product(s) needed.

3.  For clients with products that we no longer support (such as  MakePDF, iManSync, iMHot, etc.), we'll provide a license key file so the product version installed can continue to be used.  Again, you'll get the license key file by sending an email to support@docauto.com with information about the specific product(s) needed.

Note that these procedures do not apply to clients using "unwrapped" software from our secure client portal.

If we're proactive about this early in 2009, we can handle whatever migration is left in an orderly fashion. We don't want clients to be caught by surprise one day and panic. We also don't want a crisis situation where everyone is trying to get a license key at the last possible moment. We appreciate your cooperation in reviewing your software status and contacting us if you need to swap a POP code for a license key.
