"Our aim for WorkSite in DLA Piper from day one has
always been to give the Fee Earners a dynamic view of
their document and email world based on the matters they
are working on at that particular time. DocAuto's
WorkSpace Manager has
enabled us to do this with just a few relatively simple
jobs."

ILTA Webinar: E-Mail Lifecycle Management Using DocAuto's OutiM Server
Date:
Monday March 23, 2009
12:00 noon- 1:30 pm EST
|
Description:
E-mail lifecycle management has become a major pain point for most firms today. Overloaded Exchange servers, compliance, and records management issues make effectively managing e-mail a top priority for Information Technology departments.
OutiM Server supports multiple approaches to e-mail management, and integrates with and extends the functionality of other e-mail management systems. It supports Mailbox, Public Folder, and PST processing, and can automatically copy, move, or move and link any kind of Exchange content (messages, notes, tasks, contacts, calendar items, etc.) directly from filtered or non-filtered sources into dynamically-identified WorkSpaces or Folders in WorkSite.
OutiM Server provides the "fewest click" solution for users to make sure the messages they want to file are filed quickly and correctly, without tying up workstation resources. It can be used as an e-mail archiving product out of the box, leveraging WorkSite's native security, search, and single-instance storage capabilities.
Join us for this informative webinar in which we will discuss e-mail management needs and present new features in OutiM Server that will allow your firm to get its e-mail content under control, while minimizing the need for user involvement.

In This Issue:

WorkSpace Manager 1.6 Now Available
This version of
WorkSpace Manager includes several important new features:
- "Targeted Deletion" of specific structures
within a WorkSpace.
- Extension of Zone Control to Categories,
including the addition of Targeted Deletion
within Categories.
- Ability to Rename a "My Matters" container
as referenced in a Subscription.
- Automatic support for changing the program
interface to support custom captions for the "My
Matters" container, such as "My Projects",
"Engagements", "Policies", "Employees",
"Properties", etc., for our non-legal customers.
- Extensive improvements to the Aging process
for better maintenance of "Parallel WorkSpaces"
in distributed environments, or for differential
copying of WorkSpace content, such as in
archiving, e-discovery, litigation hold, or
virtual deal-room implementations.
As always, this version is backward-compatible
with job files from prior versions, but because of
the new extensions to Zone Control and the ability
to rename the My Matters container, new
template-specific options have been added which will
be OFF by default.
Please refer to our complete
release notes for detailed information about
this release.
Note also that this release requires new license
files. All customers have been sent updated
license files, but if you had a problem receiving
this information, please contact
support@docauto.com.

WorkSpace Manager Job Strategies Guide Now Available
The WorkSpace Manager Job Strategies Guide (JSG) is now available for
download from our web site.
This document is designed to serve as a "cookbook"
with "recipes" for common WorkSpace Manager tasks, and provide
detailed examples of how to approach specific common
jobs in setting up and maintaining a matter-centric
structure in WorkSite.
We welcome suggestions for extensions to this
guide from our customers, partners and resellers!

WorkSite Watchdog Server 1.5.13 Now Available
This release of
Watchdog Server incorporates a number of powerful new features:
- Data-driven notification filtering.
Now it is possible to dynamically build
notification filters using data from any
ODBC-compliant database. This
functionality can be used to set up jobs that
automatically notify specific users (like the
responsible attorney as stored in your
accounting database) when specific events occur
on their clients and matters.
- Custom-definable "exclusion" lists.
This allows specific types of documents, or
specific WorkSite Users or Groups to be exempt
from analysis when examining event threshold
counts. For example, all documents that
are "Forms" can be excluded from specific types
of monitoring, or actions by specific users
(like administrators) can be ignored.

iMPrivate 5.1 Now Available
One of DocAuto's oldest products,
iMPrivate has been migrated to the job-centric interface
consistent with all other DocAuto
products. This allows multiple security
processing jobs to be run simultaneously on the same
workstation, or different jobs to be run in
sequential batches at specific times of the day, or
after certain triggering events have occurred.

Important
Notice about DocAuto Software Licensing
Important Notice To All DocAuto Partners and
Customers:
In May 2008, our license key vendor, Element 5,
made a change in their software "wrapping" system (
that utilized "POP" codes) that drove us to develop
our own license key system, which is now fully
operational. Many of our clients have already
migrated from POP codes to the new DocAuto "key"
system. However, clients who haven't installed
any updates may have software that is functioning
using the old POP code system which was installed
when the original purchase was made.
Please be advised that
effective May 2009, ALL POP code support will be
discontinued by Element 5.
This means that any product installed with a POP
code will cease to function. It is VERY important
for you to review your software (or for resellers,
your customers' software) to ascertain if any
installations are still using POP codes. Here are
the procedures if you have POP code software
(generally anything installed before Summer 2008):
1. For users with active Annual Support,
please send an email to
support@docauto.com and request a new license
key and software that does not use POP codes.
2. Users who have allowed their Annual
Support to lapse will be provided with a license key
file so they can use the last version of the
software they had. We will not provide new software
or licenses. You'll receive the license key file
when you send an email to
support@docauto.com with a list of the
product(s) needed.
3. For clients with products that we no
longer support (such as MakePDF, iManSync, iMHot,
etc.), we'll provide a license key file so the
product version installed can continue to be used.
Again, you'll get the license key file by sending an
email to
support@docauto.com with information about the
specific product(s) needed.
Note that these procedures do not apply to
clients using "unwrapped" software from our secure
client portal.
If we're proactive about this early in 2009, we
can handle whatever migration is left in an orderly
fashion. We don't want clients to be caught by
surprise one day and panic. We also don't want a
crisis situation where everyone is trying to get a
license key at the last possible moment. We
appreciate your cooperation in reviewing your
software status and contacting us if you need to
swap a POP code for a license key.
