Matter-Centric Software Solutions for Interwoven
In This Issue
Reflecting on 2008 and Looking Forward to 2009
Despite the economic climate, we made strong progress at DocAuto in 2008 thanks to all of our customers and partners. We greatly appreciate your support over the last 12 years!
Our sales reached another new record, improving more than 25% from the previous year. We continue to offer the premier product to manage WorkSite WorkSpaces, WorkSpace Manager, as well as a suite of products that allow our clients and partners to optimize their Interwoven implementation.
DocAuto has gone “global” with over 300 customers on five continents. This has been made possible by a few extraordinary partners who have spread the word around the globe. We look forward to expanding our geographic footprint even more in 2009.
For the first time, we have built a network of partners who have the expertise and training to help our clients implement matter-centric solutions. Marcia Okon, our Channel Manager, has built our reseller network from scratch in a little more than a year. This new channel is now a significant part of our business. We are showcasing the work of our partners in the Excellence in Matter-Centricity series that we just launched. Take a few minutes and view the first webinar in the series from MicroStrategies. It is very informative and worth the view.
Perhaps most importantly, 2008 was the year in which we expanded and upgraded our DocAuto team. Gregg Power joined the Company as SVP Sales, working closely with Rich Powers (no they’re not related), Director of Sales for the Western Region. Marcia, Rich, and Gregg have expanded our ability to reach out to you, our customer, and explain the DocAuto advantage. Lori Page Hall, our Director of Product Knowledge, has helped us extract and articulate the great deal of product and solution-centric knowledge that DocAuto has built up over the years. Many of you have spoken to Christian Villegas, who now manages our Customer Support on a day-to-day basis. Evan Reese has expanded our development team to address the new products that will be a key part of our 2009 plans, in addition to the continuous enhancements to our existing products. More importantly, we are not done hiring, and continue to look for excellent people in all departments of our business.
As we all know, 2009 will be a year of challenges for everyone in the legal technology business. Budgets are being cut or postponed, firm management are demanding greater accountability and more increases in productivity. We at DocAuto are committed to helping our clients in three ways: (1) Our products improve productivity in a very real way – you spend less time, or hire fewer people – when you implement WorkSpace Manager in your matter-centric environment. We literally have hundreds of clients who tell us how important WSM is to creating, revising, and managing their WorkSpaces. (2) We will continue to focus on products that save you and your firm’s fee earners time. We will launch new products across the range of areas in 2009, beginning with today’s announcement of a major upgrade for OutiM Server to version 3.0 (see below). (3) We are committed to better understanding your problems by a direct, honest dialog with our customers. In 2008 we initiated a Customer Interview program that was critical to increasing our understanding of your needs. We will expand that program in 2009.
Finally, we continue to strengthen our relationship with Interwoven. We have been a strong – we believe the strongest – Interwoven developer partner for the WorkSite platform for over a decade now. We continue to work with Interwoven to develop joint training and implementation programs that make implementing a WorkSite solution quicker and less costly.
Once again, thank you for all your support.

New Release of OutiM Server is Launched
DocAuto announced the release of version 3.0 of DocAuto’s e-mail management solution for WorkSite and Microsoft Exchange, OutiM Server 3.0. OutiM Server provides a bridge between Microsoft Exchange and Interwoven WorkSite to automatically copy, copy and flag, or move user e-mails, contacts, tasks, and other types of Exchange content directly into the correct filing location within Interwoven WorkSite.
This new release provides powerful new features for filtering and processing Exchange Public Folders, and bulk processing e-mail PST file archives. The new release also includes optional “Client Utilities” that can rapidly create and maintain “mirror” matter-centric structures in Exchange that can be automatically mapped to the corresponding WorkSpace in a matter-centric WorkSite environment, without any intervention from users. OutiM Server then performs the processing of e-mails stored within these folders without tying up resources on a user’s workstation, and without requiring users to manually “link” each of their Outlook folders to a specific folder in WorkSite.

MicroStrategies Webinar
On November 18, 2008, we held the first webinar in our new Excellence in Matter-Centricity series, which showcases the innovative solutions our partners and clients have developed using our products. The webinar was entitled "Matter-Centric WorkSpaces for the Non-Conformist" and was presented by Cynthia Harrison Mahoney of MicroStrategies, Inc. Cynthia showed several techniques for getting buy-in from that "other 10%" of the firm during a matter-centric rollout. Many practice groups can have very specific needs with regard to WorkSpace design, and WorkSpace Manager is well-suited for meeting those special needs. The webinar was well-attended, and attendees found the content to be very informative. Click here to view the presentation and video recording of the webinar. See our Schedule in this newsletter and on our web site for upcoming presentations in this series.
